Courtney, Court, Coco … Always a work in progress.
Hi, I’m Courtney! I live in Northeastern Connecticut (also known as the Quiet Corner) with my Lhasa Apso, Sir Giorgio. I grew up in the small towns of Plainfield and Brooklyn, CT with my parents and older sister, Mel. Throughout the years, other family members lived with us helping to mold me into who I am today – my most special aunt, “Tia Maria,” who had down syndrome and lived with my family for 17 years, and my maternal grandfather, who had dementia. I hold a Clinical Social Work License, and am a graduate of Salve Regina University in Newport, RI (BSSW) and Barry University in Miami Shores, FL (MSW).
By day, I work as a program developer and liaison for a palliative and hospice care provider. I’ve been working in the arena of elder / end-of-life care for over a decade, and I am a Virtual Dementia Tour® Certified Trainer with Second Wind Dreams®. I am also proud to serve on the Advisory Board for iVoice Communication. By nightfall, I can be found trying out new dining spots, at watering holes around Rhode Island and the CT shoreline, doing pilates, and most recently taking real estate classes – something I’ve always wanted to pursue!
After closing a well-being studio (which focused on mindfulness and compassionate communication) in the winter of 2019, yet still seeking a creative outlet, I decided to refresh this website. It serves as a place to continue to share the lessons of SALT (Self-Awareness, Let’s Talk, LLC) and promote the well-being, water-filled, lifestyle that I so love. Welcome aboard, and may you find some comfort here!
